Winemakers have a word for it: terroir. It’s the sum total of all the elements—climate, soils, farming and much more—that transform a wine into a unique expression of time and place.
Few places combine so many magical components as Argentina’s Uco Valley. Here, the foothills of the Andes mountains provide stony soil for ideal drainage and root growth. High altitude (3,700 feet) and arid conditions (only about 12 inches of rain annually) create wide thermal ranges and long growing seasons. Days can exceed 30º Celsius, and nights sometimes fall to 5º or lower.
The drama plays out in our grapes, with healthy, concentrated fruit, beautiful color, and long ripening seasons that allow each vintage to realize its fullest potential. You’ll experience that sense of place in the aromas and flavors of every glass of Andeval wines.
